Supernova in Messier 95

Hinter der Katalogbezeichung Messier 95 verbirgt sich eine rund 10 mag helle Balkenspiral-Galaxie im Sternbild Löwen. Hier wurde am 16 März vom italienischen Amateurastronomen Paolo Fagotti eine Supernova entdeckt.
Die im Bild markierte Supernova "SN2012AW" wurde am 22. März mit dem Hauptteleskop der Sternwarte Huchenfeld 40 Minuten belichtet. Das Bild zeigt die zu diesem Zeitpunkt rund 13,1 mag helle Supernova unterhalb des Galaxienkerns.

Supernova in Messier 95

Behind the catalogue number Messier 95 hides a bright bar spiral galaxy in the constellation of lion, with a brightness of approximately 10 mag . On March16. the Italian amateur astronomer Paolo Fagotti discovered a supernova in Messier 95. The picture obove shows the supernova " SN2012AW" at 22.of March and is made with the main telescope of the observatory Huchenfeld (exposure-time 40 minutes). The picture shows the approximately 13.1 mag bright supernova underneath the galaxies nucleus.
